Thesis Title: "Representations of Diversity in Finnish Children's Literature"
About
I graduated in 2008 from the Intercultural Teacher Education programme (Master of Education; Faculty of Education, University of Oulu).
My research interests are, for example, otherness, theories of representation and performativity of language. In my ongoing PhD study I analyze children’s literature as a part of changing society in the globalizing world. I examine the representations of diversity from multicultural perspectives, as a variety of several factors, such as age, gender, sexual orientation and religious or political views. I’m also interested in the educational aim of children’s literature.
